It is high time that we post another Kickstarter thank you video.
Thank you to Jeanne Koploy, one of our BIGGEST sponsors! We greatly appreciate all the support you’ve given to our film and we were so glad to meet you at National’s this summer! We hope you enjoy Dimitri’s amazing musical talents:
Thank you Robert & Sharon for your generous contributions! In exchange, a magnificent video of your son and his new found talents:
It’s time for another Kickstarter Thank You Video! Thanks Joe Levin & Family for your generous contribution!
It’s been almost a year now since our Kickstarter launched, so it’s time to start properly thanking our biggest donors! And what a better day to start than Valentine’s Day! For the next several weeks, we will be releasing our donor thank you videos. They’re short and silly, but made with love. We hope you like them.
So, thank you Marci Miles! We hope you like this video, starring Puff the Goat and Julian Broudy.
Great news! Just because Kickstarter ended doesn’t mean we’re going to stop fundraising! Thank you to our 171 Kickstarter donors who contributed a total of $12,455.
Today, I launched a new fundraising site with IndieGoGo: http://www.indiegogo.com/goatshowdoc
This fundraising campaign differs from Kickstarter in a few ways: 1) the timeline is MUCH longer. We can raise funds on IndieGoGo for up to 120 days! This way people can donate online (via credit card) until September 10th or indefinitely via check. 2) Unlike Kickstarter, we get to keep all of the money regardless of whether we reach our goal.
However, just like Kickstarter (which had a listed goal of $12,000), reaching our IndieGoGo goal STILL does not mean we are fully funded. We will not be fully funded until we reach the $35,000 mark. It may seem like a long way away, but I’m positive that if we find the right people and the right grants and drum up a ton of interest that we can make our ultimate goal!
Even if you donated to Kickstarter, would you consider sharing our IndieGoGo link with your friends, family and co-workers? We need all the help we can get to reach our goal and you all have done an amazing job so far.
Let’s keep up the good work and reach $35,000!
Thank you all so much!
Great news, everyone! We made our $12,000 Kickstarter goal just in time! Goat Show Doc now has over 180 backers! Thank you for all your support!
The journey is far from over- we still need to raise $23,000 to reach our ultimate goal. Stay tuned for more information on how YOU can help!
Hey Friends, Family and Followers!
As of today, we are only $2,660 away from reaching our $12,000 Kickstarter goal! Donate now and receive a number of AMAZING backer rewards! We need your help. $12,000 is JUST the beginning! We need to raise at least $35,000 by the end of the summer in order to make the movie we want to make. We have 22 days left on this Kickstarter campaign- let’s blow the goal out of the water! Every dollar you donate goes DIRECTLY into the making of this movie.
Thank you so, so much to all of you who have donated already. Your generosity speaks louder than words.
6 year old SGCH Algedi Farm DJ Honey Dew 1*M EEEE91, 5x BIS
Proudly owned by youth exhibitor, Siena Rasmussen of Alethia Homestead.
“We are a small family homestead interested in growing organic produce, organic egg production and raising quality Nigerian Dwarf Dairy goats for show, milk and the overall preservation and improvement of the breed. We participate in ADGA shows, milk test (only one day tests when possible at this time) and have found the Linear Appraisal Program to be a valuable tool in accessing the progress of our breeding program. We have very high standards, strict culling practices due to our limited space restrictions and only keep a small, select herd of goats. We are still in the process of building our foundation herd, based on the body style and incredible udder consistency of stock from Algedi and Rosasharn Farms, with our added focus on dairyness and structural correctness (we’re feet and leg fanatics… can’t help it!) We seasonally have a limited number of kids available and occasionally adult animals for sale to the right homes. We have VERY strict bio-security practices, have a closed, disease free herd, with the whole herd testing negative through WADDL for CAE, CL, Johnes and Q-fever in March 2012, therefore we offer no outside buck service. We love to talk “goat” and all things “anima’ related” so feel free to message us here on Facebook or email us and we’ll keep you posted about when we’ll have our website up and running!”
Thank you Siena, Dana and Honey Dew!
Editor’s note: Like Siena, with a donation to our film, you too can feature one of your favorite goats on our website! After you have made a donation, simply email me a picture (goatshowdoc [at] gmail [dot] com), your goat’s name, and any information you would like to include. Thank you so much for your continued support! Keep checking the website for more caprine sponsors!
I would like to introduce our newest caprine sponsor– Arabella of Adobe Farms. Arabella lives with Angela and Ken Spaeth on Adobe Farm in Weatherford, Texas. What a beautiful face!
Ken says, “Our main goal is teaching; having lots of experience in an agricultural background (research scientist with the USDA),” including land and soil. Ken is a plant specialist with an emphasis on farming and ranching consulting. Angela loves soap-making, spinning and weaving. You can contact Ken & Angela or find more information about their farm, their cheeses and their four-legged companions here: http://www.adobe-farm.com/ Last but not least, Ken and Angela recommend, “We challenge any goat farmer to learn how to make either quark or neufchatel soft cheeses, and then find a German cheesecake recipe and make the ‘original’ cheesecake! Absolutely yummy!”
Thanks Angela, Ken and Arabella!
Editor’s note: Like Ken and Angela, with a donation to our film, you too can feature one of your favorite goats on our website! After you have made a donation, simply email me a picture (goatshowdoc [at] gmail [dot] com), your goat’s name, and any information you would like to include. Thank you so much for your continued support! Keep checking the website for more caprine sponsors!

2. Do you have a friend, a mentor or a loved one who is as passionate about goats as we are? Honor them by making a donation to our film! If you donate $10 or more and would like to honor someone special, simply message me on Kickstarter or email me with that person’s name and we will include it in the donors list like this: John Doe, in honor of Jane Doe or John Doe, in memory of Jane Doe.
Even if you’ve already made a donation, you can still take part in these exciting new donor opportunities. Contact us with your name and honorees name and/or photo, and we will put it online so everyone can see!
Keep up the great work! We’ve almost hit the 50% mark on our goal:
