Gifts for Goat People! Day 24: Volunteer!

“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.  People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.” – Sam Levenson

One of the most thoughtful and welcomed gifts this holiday season is a helping hand!  Best of all – you don’t have to stand in a long line at Macy’s or spend a single dollar.  As goat owners, we know that the daily routine is strenuous, and sometimes you just need a break!  This season give your goat owning friends COUPONS!  You can lighten the load in so many ways:

- Milking

- Feeding kids

- Cleaning Pens / Barns

- Hauling Hay / Grain

- Trimming Hooves

- Clipping

- Tattooing

- Dehorning

- Going to dinner after a goat show

Get creative!  Be artistic!  I’m sure your friend will appreciate your help more than any material item you could buy them.

Check back tomorrow morning for more goat gifts and click subscribe (on the right) if you would like to receive this blog via email!
