25 Fun Things to Do During the National Show! #16: Glenwood Springs

#16: Glenwood Springs

Okay, so I admit that like Maroon Bells, this is a bit of a long shot, but I would be doing a disservice to Colorado if I didn’t mention the both of them.  Glenwood Springs is not too far from Aspen and Maroon Bells and its claim to fame is the world’s largest natural mineral hot spring… aka Mother Nature’s Perfect Swimming Pool.  Every day, three and a half million gallons of hot mineral water pass through Glenwood Springs’ large pool and you too can enjoy it!  Did I mention there are also water slides?

For more information, look here:  http://www.hotspringspool.com/

In addition to the amazing swimming opportunities, Glenwood Springs also has a GREAT amusement park: http://glenwoodcaverns.com/  There you can find the first Alpine Roller Coaster in the U.S.  AND the highest elevation roller coaster IN THE WORLD, The Cliffhanger.  Yes, it literally hangs off a cliff.

Again, I realize its pretty far away from Loveland and if you have someone to milk for you for a day or two, great.  Otherwise- don’t forget about Glenwood Springs and Maroon Bells next time you have the opportunity to vacation in the U.S.!
